MMI practice with a medical student

MMI practice with a medical student who got in recently. Haris studies medicine at Kent and Medway Medical School and leads our KMMS MMI sessions, so your feedback comes from someone who has been through it.

Why practise with a medical student?

A medical student has sat an MMI recently and knows how it feels to walk into a station with a timer running.

That keeps the practice realistic. You get feedback on how you come across, not just on what you said, plus an honest picture of what studying medicine is actually like.

What you get

  • Timed stations
  • Feedback after every station
  • Ideas and examples, not scripts
  • Tips for staying calm

Questions worth asking a medical student

Their answers give you real detail for your motivation and “why this school” answers.

About the course

  • How is teaching organised, and what suits you about it?
  • When did you first meet patients?
  • What surprised you in first year?

About the reality

  • What is the hardest part so far?
  • What does a placement day look like?
  • How do you look after yourself?

About getting in

  • What did you wish you had practised more?
  • How did you prepare for the group station?
  • What helped on the day?

How to get the most from practice

Bring your list

Tell us your schools and interview dates so the stations match.

One fix at a time

Take one piece of feedback per station and fix only that before moving on.

Repeat the station

Do the same station again after feedback. The second attempt is where you learn.

Record yourself

Watch one answer back on your phone. You will spot habits no one else mentions.
